Create a new page

Follow these simple steps to create a new page of materials.

1. Register with NativeWiki and log in. NOTE: you don't have to register to post information, but you must be registered to edit most existing NativeWiki material.

NOTE: to best index your new page, choose an existing NativeWiki category. If you have trouble with step 2 below, skip to step 3. However, if you don't begin with an existing category, your contribution will end up as one of NativeWiki's pages, and visitors to those categories will not see your page. It will appear, however, with a specific search.

2. Create an internal link in an existing category on NativeWiki pages. Most likely, your new page will fit in one of the main categories listed in Documents and Materials. Go to the appropriate category and click on the "edit" tab at top of page.

NOTE: you can not edit an existing page unless you have registered with NativeWiki. You may have to wait a short time for NativeWiki to recognize your registration login.

Select the appropriate page. The "coding" is simple; create double left and right brackets ( [[]] ), position your cursor in the middle, and type the name of your new page. You can do this in two different ways, following these examples.

| [[name of your page]]
[[name of your page|display text]]

3. Type the exact name of your page in the search box at left.

4. Click the Go button.

5. The next page tells you there is nothing yet created with your title. Click on the red-highlighted link in "You can create this page."

6. Type your material in the window below the toolbar. Please read the Open Source contribution statement below this window.

7. Scroll to the bottom of the main window and click on the Save button.

8. Hurrah! Welcome to NativeWiki. You've just posted your own page.

8. Your page will show immediately. NativeWiki administrators will review the page and link it to the appropriate index or menu. NativeWiki will probably not edit your page, but we reserve the right to edit and/or delete all offensive or non-attributed materials and, if necessary, ban the poster.
